Here is Idol's Music Section top tips for this years festival...
Chopped and Screwed - 5th April
Micachu and the Shapes have collaborated (for the second year in a row) with The London Sinfonietta to perform a live set of their experimental pop/orchestral album that debuted last May. With lead singer, Mica Levi's, experience in composition and a selection of handmade instruments they are certainly one of a kind. The blend of the two opposite forces creates a magnificent masterpiece that is something you have to see to believe.
2001: A Space Odyssey Live - 7th &8th April
One of the greatest Sci-Fi films has returned to the Ether Festival again this year with a live orchestra to accompany this iconic film. With André de Ridder conducts the Philharmonia Orchestra and Philharmonia Voices through the films extraordinary soundtrack to produce a truly breathtaking collaboration of cinematography and composition. It was a complete sell out last June and it is sure to have the same reception this month so grab a ticket quickly or forever hold your peace.
Harmonic Series - 10th April
Our final pick of the festival has to go to this elegant selection of artists that will all play their part in the night curated by Oliver Coates (Southbank Centre Resident Artist). With the big hitter being James Blake (shortlisted in the BBC Sound Poll 2011, only to be pipped to the post by chart topper Jessie J) who has been at the forefront of this years electronic music scene. Other acts include an acoustic set from Seb Rochford and a new piece of work by Max de Wardener.
